Family Vacation 2012

For our family vacation this year we went to DISNEYLAND!! The boys had no idea what to expect, but they were all pretty excited about it!

We went with our great friends The Whitney's! Our first stop was Huntington beach. It was beautiful! It was the perfect day to go. The water was freezing, but it didn't stop all of the kids from swimming!

Our second stop was Sea World! I was amazed at how majestic it is to see a HUGE killer whale. They are AMAZING!

They trained these killer whales to actually do a backflip out of the water.... AMAZING! We sat in the soak zone, luckily we didn't get wet, but the kids went down front and got pretty wet. It was so much fun!

It was a little chilly that day, but so worth it!

We got to stop at the San Diego temple while we were there. It was just as beautiful as we imagined it would be. It's breathtaking!

It doesn't get much more amazing than that!

Our next stop was DiSnEyLaNd for 2 days! We loved it! We hit everything we could. I bet we could have used one more day though!

Line after Line, at this point, everyone was exhausted!

Tyler got to drive me around... I'm glad we still have 12 more years until that happens!

It was so much fun to go with our friends. Each kid had a ride partner. It was perfect! They had a great time together.

This picture is classic!! Derek tried and tried for both days to get Dusty to go on California Screamin (a scary roller coster). He WOULD NOT do it.... We knew he would love it if he went, so Derek coaxed him on (with a little force)!! This is just before they took off, Dusty looks scared to death!! But the up side, is that when he got off, he was STOKED! He loved it! He went about 5 more times on it! It was great!

We had the best time! Can't wait to go again!

SUMMER FUN!!

COPPER BASIN!!

We took a trip to Copper Basin over the 4th of July. I had never been there before and Derek has always wanted to take me. It was beautiful up there and the weather was fantastic!

We took the toys and the boys and went on a 4wheeler ride up through Lakecreek trail. It was a long ride up the trail, and unfortunately we couldn't get clear up to the lake because of some pretty big snow drifts, but we had a blast anyways!

We stopped along the creek and fished for awhile. Derek caught one. They are all waiting so patiently!

Stuart and Shauna gave Dusty a bebe gun (sorry, not sure the spelling!) for his birthday and Derek spent some time teaching them how to use it.... Actually teaching them how not to shoot themselves or other people!! :) yikes! Dusty couldn't get enough of it. He has a pretty good shot too! Just like his daddy!

Poor Tyler..... Derek made some killer ribs while we were there and this is the end result! Not sure if he is crying cuz he is full, or crying cuz he wants some more!!



THE TAUTPHUS PARK ZOO!!

Derek and I took the boys to the zoo last week. It was fun. There is alot more to see there than at the Poky zoo! Worth the money!

This is one of the monkeys. I think him and Tyler have a lot in common!

I have a picture of myself doing this same thing when I was that age! That thing has been around a LONG TIME!

Dusty couldn't get enough of the lions. Those are his favorite. They are so scary looking!




HERBST FAMILY REUNION!!

Derek and I were in charge of my family reunion this year, so we chose to go to Heise! It was alot of fun. My entire family was there and we all hit the pool!

Tyler was a little "daddy's boy" in the water.

We didn't see much of Dusty all day. He was too busy with the tube slide and the diving board! He had a blast. I swear that kid could live in the water! Every time I ask him what he wants to do today, he says go swimming. He LOVES it!

This is my cool brother Ryan. He had the best cannonball ever! I wanted the guys to have a contest, but we never made it happen, dang it!

Last, but not least, Tyler...... He is sitting off to the left next to some perfect strangers. He likes to sit down and make conversation with people he doesn't know. I guess I better get a handle on that, but he's so friendly and it's so funny to watch him!

So far we have had a pretty fun summer. And it's only half over!! We still have a few things up our sleeve that we want to accomlish before school starts again! I can't believe we will have 2 children in school! That scares me a little bit! Time flies!

Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day we decided to go camping at Heise. We happened to pick a great weekend because they were having a HUGE Memorial Day celebration. They even had helicopter rides!

Dusty went with Derek and Destiny. Colby and Tyler decided to go on the wagon ride instead!

Dusty acted pretty tough, even though I'm sure he was scared out of his mind the whole time. But he also loved every minute of it. He got to sit in the co-pilots chair. Derek said he talked to the pilot the whole time. He had a bazillion questions!

These two have become pretty good buddies. They have their moments, but Tyler is lost when he doesn't have Colby to boss around!

Stuart, Shauna, Destiny, Tayven, and Damon came up for the day on Saturday. We had a great time and Derek made a delicious steak dinner for everyone that night. The weather was beautiful. We got pretty lucky!

Our friends Chris and Celeste came up for the last two days and we had a blast! We fished at the pond and I think each kid caught 3 fish or so. It was so fun!

This is the best I could do lining the kids up for a picture on the fence!! Right, like that is going to happen. They were WAY too busy for that!

LeeAnn, Reba, and King George!

Derek and I went to the George Strait concert in Salt Lake last weekend! He was amazing!! If you ever get a chance, you have to see King George! He sounded so clear and perfect! It was a great concert. Derek has been a George Strait fan since he was a little boy. We both loved it!

We also saw LeeAnn Womack and Reba.... They were both amazing too! It was alot of fun. My favorites that they sang were I Hope You Dance, by LeeAnn Womack, Fancy, by Reba, and George sang about every hit that he has had. My favorite was Amarillo by Morning! It was so fun!
