CAMPING IN ISLAND PARK

Derek and I took the boys to Island Park and West Yellowstone this weekend for a little camping trip. We left on Thursday and came back today (don't ask me how I have time to blog already). I guess I'm just relaxing now! Anyway, we recently bought a camp trailer and are attempting to get as much use out of it as possible!

Tyler loves this little red trike. Even though he can't go anywhere on it yet, he calls it his "mumm mumm". Pretty cute...

Thanks to one of Dereks buddies, he introduced us to Buttermilk campground next to Bills Island. It was absolutely beautiful. We camped right next to the reservoir. I can't believe I didn't take a picture of the view. It was gorgeous!

I have to throw this picture in because Derek was our camp chef, and he was amazing. He made such great meals for us. I absolutely LOVE that he cooks. It's great!

On Saturday, we took the boys to the bear and wolf museum in West. We've been there before, I actually think I've blogged about it before. But it was alot of fun.

Derek's parents came up on Friday and floated the Buffalo River with us. It's so relaxing. Dusty actually swam the whole time. Derek took the boys down it again on Saturday.

Three buddies. I love watching Derek have fun with the boys. They adore him so much.

Relaxing in the camper. I think it was a little bit too relaxing... Movies, popcorn, couches, it doesn't get better than that! We were lucky to have pretty good weather. It rained a few times, but thats why theres the TV right? :)

Derek and his mini-me. Dusty looks and acts just like his Dad. It's funny, everyone tells him that. Two peas in a pod. Dusty mimics Derek all the time. It's pretty cute.

The three amigos. They were all troopers the whole time. It was Derek and I's first camping trip by ourselves, and it went great. There was an instance however...... I left Tyler in the camper by himself for about 5 seconds to grab something out of the truck and I went back to the camper and he had locked himself in!!! I panicked cuz I knew the keys were inside and I had left my cell phone and everything in there. So I tried coaxing Tyler to open the door and he just couldn't do it. Have you ever tried explaning how to unlock a door to an 18 month old? Frustrating! Finally about 20 minutes later, Derek got his tools out and started working on the windows. He was able to open the emergency window and lift Colby inside to unlock the door. It was a learning experience and I'm headed to Cal Ranch tomorrow to make some spare keys! Other than that, we had a great time together as a family and are already planning our next trip!

Looks like you had so much fun! Love the camper! We love to tent camp, but can't wait until we get a camper trailer.
